Machine Wash
Machine wash cold with like colors. Use a mild detergent. Turn the shorts inside out to protect the heat-transfer logo on the thigh. Wash with similar technical fabrics to avoid pilling from rougher materials like denim. Cold water preserves the recycled polyester, the FlashDry-XD finish, and the water-changing print. The 130 g/m² fabric is light enough to dry quickly even on a low-heat cycle.
Tumble Dry Low
Tumble dry on low heat, or hang dry. Remove from the dryer promptly to minimize wrinkles. High heat will degrade the FlashDry-XD finish, the recycled polyester, and the heat-transfer logo. Low heat or line drying extends the life of the shorts significantly. The lightweight ripstop dries fast, so a low-heat cycle is usually enough — line drying works even on a humid day.
Do Not Bleach or Iron
Do not use chlorine bleach, fabric softener, or iron. Bleach breaks down the recycled polyester and degrades the FlashDry-XD finish. Fabric softener coats the fibers with a film that reduces moisture-wicking performance and clogs the mesh pocket lining. Ironing directly on the shorts will melt the heat-transfer logo and damage the water-changing print.
Rinse After Swimming
Rinse the shorts in fresh water after a chlorinated pool or a salt-water swim — chlorine and salt both degrade the FlashDry-XD finish and the recycled polyester over time. A quick rinse in clean tap water, then a normal wash cycle, keeps the finish performing like new. The mesh pocket lining drains quickly, so a shake-out and a hang will get most of the water out before the rinse.
Pre-Soak Stains
Pre-soak grass, mud, or food stains in a mild detergent solution before washing — the longer a stain sits through a hot dryer cycle, the more permanent it becomes. A 30-minute pre-soak in cold water with a small amount of detergent will lift most playground stains without needing bleach. The lightweight ripstop releases stains easily, so a pre-soak usually does the job.
Storage
Fold and store in a cool, dry place. Hang on clip hangers by the waistband if hanging, to avoid stretching the encased elastic. A standard wire hanger can pinch and distort the waistband over time. Keep the shorts away from direct sunlight in storage to preserve the water-changing print effect.
