Used as directed, Clean Equation F is a plant safe, unique freshwater flocculant and cleaner designed to target and gently clean surfaces of rock, driftwood, other decorations and tank walls, removing stains, loosening and softening debris for easy vacuuming and providing a cleaner, more pristine environment. It will outcompete unwanted substances and loosen the grip of ugly accumulations and coatings making their removal by scraping or vacuuming easy. Its exclusive chemical formula does much of the work for you, to help provide the beautiful freshwater aquarium you have always wanted. It will also also flocculate floating particulate matter, clumping it together, allowing easy filtration and providing essential water quality improvement.

Use in aquarium keeping

Continuum recommends that you filter tap makeup water by reverse osmosis, distillation or deionization along with carbon pre-filtration to prevent adding phosphates and silicates to your aquarium. Continuum recommends a phosphate level of less than .02 mg/l (ppm). If you have high phosphate or silicate levels, you can lower them rapidly by using Continuum Captiv Phos W or Captiv Phos Fe or liquid Phos Correx prior to or while using this product. The use of nerite snails, ramshorn snails, plecosthmus and other grazers is also recommended. Although not required, it would be advantageous to first use Continuum Redox Plus to lower the organic load of the aquarium and to raise the ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) and then wait 2 hours before using this product for the first time. Continuum also recommends that you consider using Reef Flora Viv Prolifera and Bacter Clean F to accelerate the growth and increase the effectiveness of the bacteria in the system during use. Clean Equation F can be used simultaneously and synergistically with BacterClean F, or BacterGen F. If using simultaneously, add bacteria several hours after the use of Clean Equation M (this product) or several hours before its use.

Directions and protocol

Shake product well before using! For every 10 gallons ( 38 L ) of aquarium volume, use 1 ml and for every 50 gallons ( 190 L ) of aquarium volume, use 5 ml ( 1 capful ) of this product in a high flow area of the main aquarium. Repeat every 3 days until desired results are obtained.

Maintenance: Then dose once a week to maintain the aquarium.

Other considerations:

This product is slow acting and will take multiple applications to achieve a clean aquarium. Daily replacement of filter floss and regular vacuuming of all debris and undesirable materials from the live rocks and decorations is required. After the first week of use, unwanted stains and substances should begin to loosen and come off the rocks and decorations easily. Daily use may be continued as long as needed.

Note: Safe for planted aquariums and fishes of all types, however, all animals are individuals. Closely observe inhabitants while using, and if any negative reactions occur, slow or discontinue use. Do not use with crustaceans (shrimp, crabs or lobsters).

Caution: Not an algaecide. Do not use with an algaecide. Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. If in eyes flush with water, if irritation continues, seek medical attention. If ingested, call a poison control center.
